DAVID HAWKINS

David has been an active member of this camera club for over 50 years. His photography journey progressed from film through to digital, and he particularly enjoyed producing black and white as well as infra-red images.

His images were all about the light, using it to great effect to add a mood or a feeling.

He loved to travel both in this country and overseas, always with his camera. He particularly enjoyed visiting Northumberland and walking on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool canal near his home, and his stunning images from these places shows that you don’t have to travel far to achieve great photographs.

He has entertained us with his wonderful images and photographic talks, and was always willing to give helpful advice.

Sadly, David passed away in January 2026 and he will be much missed at this club as a great photographer, and as a dear friend.
