The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

The topic at our Open Night on Thursday 7 September was “Light Painting”, and we divided the members present into two groups to experiment with the light painting tools we purchased.

All our extensive kit was bought from Light Painting Brushes, and we all had great fun on the night. Our results we not in the same league as those on the Light Painting Brushes website, but we are only just beginning! We took turns in being the “model” and being the one using the light painting equipment in a variety of creative ways, as well as actually taking the slow shutter speed photographs.

We plan on a repeat evening while the evenings are still dark, as all present enjoyed the experience and several members expressed an interest in developing this creative photography further. In the meantime for futher inspiration and ideas please look at our suppliers website at

We thank our members have been willing to have their work published on this website, and these examples can be seen below.
