Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

The fifth and final round of our PDI competitions this year took place on Thursday 21 September with guest judge Darrell Oakden DPAGB BPE3* EFIAP from Alsager Camera Club.

The 35 Club Level PDI were shown first, and Darrell gave us some insightful comments as he scored the images. He was very impressed with the overall quality of all the images, and he held back seven images. The full 20 points went to “Follow the Leader” by David Miller, which was “a very sharp and detailed image.”

The 26 images from our Intermediate Group were next, and Darrell held seven back.  After further consideration Darrell awarded top place to “Grim Reaper in the Loop” by Don Isherwood. He admitted this was the first time he had every judged an aeroplane image to be in top place.
