Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography. 

On Thursday 28th August 2014 Ken Geddes of the Ribblesdale and District Camera Club came to our meeting to judge prints and digital projected images on the theme of 'Vintage Transport'. An interesting point arose near the outset as to whether the theme required images to be of a 'record shot' nature, or whether a degree of pictorialism was appropriate. Ken leaned towards the former, although other approaches were not excluded. Ken's helpful comments ranged over subjects connected with colour rendering, choice of subject, the photographer's chosen viewpoint and clutter. However, he appreciated the high standard of the photographs presented, some of which are presented below.
