Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

Norman Thompson, the former President of the L&CPU came to the Club on 24th April to judge entries in our monthly open print competitions - one for advanced workers, and one for beginners. Norman praised the high standard achieved by members, there being a wide variety of work submitted of excellent quality. He felt the pictorialism achieved was "very, very good". One word that came up several times was "competitively" - the notion perhapsĀ that for Club competition photography there is a particular approach which leads to success, and one which is distinguished from photography generally. Score sheets are attached below a selection of images entered on the night.
