Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

The second round of our PDI Competition took place on Thursday 21 March 2013 with guest judge John Fletcher from Ribblesdale CC.

After an initial run through he gave his comments and scores, saying these are all excellent images and he gave 18 points to 5 images, and 19 points to a further four images.

John embraced our new scoring system by giving two images the full 20 points, and not needing to hold any back. The top scorers were “Buachaille Etive Mòr” by Paul Baybut and “A Bolton Pea Souper” by Ray Jefferson

“Buachaille Etive Mòr” was “well seen” and showed “goood use of the long exposure to make the water milky.” John thought it was “nice to see a landscape image in a portrait format.”

“A Bolton Pea Souper” was well seen and the author had “done very well to capture the atmosphere.”

The scores can be viewed by opening the attached PDF file below. Any member wanting to see all the scores should consult the competition binder on display at the Club.
