Our fourth Projected digital image competition took place on Thursday 21st July in front of guest Judge Paul King. Paul is a member of the HASSRA Fylde Photographic Society at Thornton Cleveleys, and having visited our club last year said it was very good to see a club expanding with beginners and advanced members.
A total of 26 projected images were presented, and Paul held back 15 of them for further consideration during scoring. Heis comments were shorter for the advanced members than for the beginners as he said “the advanced members don’t need the comments as much.” He said “the final three images were all really good shots.”
First place and 20 points went to Brian White for “Himba Tribal Girls” which judge Paul said was “stunning” and “well held” and “was the deserved winner on the night.”
David Hawkins image “Mesmerised” came second with 19½ points, which Paul said wes “brilliant” and “well seen” He felt it had a “great title and lighting, with superb detail”
Third place and 19 points went to Brian White’s “Anaconda Eyeing a Mosquito”. Judge Paul liked the “lovely detail” and said it was “beautifully done”
Here are the results and judges comments of the top three Advanced Class images in the Projected Competition. The full statistics can be viewed by opening the attached PDF file below. Any member wanting to see all the scores should consult the competition binder on display at the Club.
