Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

Our monthly Projected Image Competition for Advanced members on Thursday 15 July produced such a high standard of images that judge Ken Vear of Blackburn P.S.had to use half points and "nit pick" to determine the three winning images. Ken looks for impact, sharpness and composition in an image, and was presented with 28 images from 10 authors. A total of six "superb" images were held back for further consideration and Ken admitted it was very difficult to select the top three.

Judge Ken Vear eventually awarded the full 20 points to Mike Margiotta for his image "Herring Gull" saying when he first saw it he thought "Wow!" and that he considered it the best image of the evening. Ken described it as "Stunning, full of impact"

Here are the results and judges comments of the 'advanced' class in the print competition. The full statistics can be viewed  by opening the attached PDF file below
